Fulham are reportedly preparing a bid for Manchester United midfielder, Fred, as the Red Devils prepare for a huge offload this summer.

The Red Devils have played their final match of the 2022-23 season, as they suffered a crushing 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in yesterday afternoon’s FA Cup final.

Erik ten Hag has brought hope back to Old Trafford, as his side picked up silverware for the first time in six years, beating Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final.

The Dutchman also guided his side to third in the Premier League, meaning the red side of Manchester will welcome Champions League football once again.

However, a 7-0 loss to Liverpool, 4-0 defeat to Brentford and a 6-3 thrashing against Manchester City, highlighted the problems in United’s squad. Meaning a host of departures and additions are expected this summer, with Brazilian international, Fred, set to leave the club.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder has made 213 appearances for the Red Devils, since signing in 2018 and has contributed to 29 goals in the process.

However, despite being a regular member in United’s starting eleven under Ole Gunner Solsjkaer, the 30-year-old has dropped down the pecking order this season.

Starting 12 Premier League fixtures, Fred has fallen out-of-favour under ten Hag, with the former Ajax manager utilising Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes in the heart of midfield.

This lack of playing time has sparked rumours over a possible departure this summer, with Marco Silva’s Fulham being a likely destination.

After a ninth place finish in the Premier League, the side from west London are preparing for another season in England’s top-flight.

The Portuguese manager was seen having a conversation with the United midfielder, after his side’s 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford on the last day of the season. Meaning a move to Craven Cottage could be on the cards for the Manchester United star.
