The first of Frankie Dettori’s York rides on Thursday see him partner up with FREE WIND in the Yorkshire Oaks. John & Thady Gosden’s mare was disappointing last time out at Glorious Goodwood – but that can be forgiven with the excuse of very testing ground that day.
It might be worth taking a chance on this five-year-old who won the Group 2 Middleton Stakes here back in May, as she returns to a track she clearly enjoys with the ground set to be ideal. It is a tough race which is wide-open and there is obvious danger from the Irish Oaks 1-2 Savethelastdance and Bluestocking.
We know that the Gosden’s charge is a class act on her day and the daughter of Galileo looks like a great value bet in what is set to be an enthralling contest. Yard also has a solid record in this race having won it four times in the past.

SPRING FEVER is Frankie’s second and final ride on day two of the Ebor Festival, and he once again teams up with the Gosdens.
However, this Class 1 contest may just be too much to ask for this filly, but has not been disgraced when bumped up in class so far this season, so could be a decent each-way bet.
The daughter of Dubawi does have form on good ground and won on that surface at Newmarket back in July. She is up against some talented fillies and mares and will need a career-best effort to land the prize.
