Graham Potter is reportedly the subject of concrete interest from Crystal Palace, who are currently in search of their next permanent manager following Roy Hodgson’s brief interim spell.

Despite pleas from the Selhurst Park faithful following a hugely positive end to the season, Roy Hodgson once again reiterated his desire to step away from management once and for all.

Crystal Palace, who rounded off their year with a respectable 11th-placed finish after suffering a mid-season relegation scare, will now need to find a suitable replacement over the summer.

A top-heavy side have thrived under Hodgson at the tail end of the season, having been allowed to express themselves with several outstanding attacking displays.

It seems the club are eager to continue along a similar path, with reports suggesting Graham Potter is their number one managerial target.

The Englishman oversaw a total rebrand while at the helm in Brighton, laying the foundations for their Europa League qualification under Roberto De Zerbi this term.

However, after making the switch from the south coast to the capital, his disastrous, short-lived career at Chelsea leaves him jobless at the time of writing.

He registered the unfortunate record of the lowest points-per-game return of any manager in the club’s history, which has somewhat blemished his otherwise mightily impressive resumé.

Nevertheless, attempting to gel £600m worth of signings is a monumental task for any manager, and it appears Palace are willing to look past his latest transgressions.

That is according to French news outlet Foot Mercato, who suggest the south London club have already opened talks with Potter over their vacant hot seat.

The report also goes on to reveal that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is leading the race to purchase Manchester United from the Glazer family, is also keen on bringing Potter to Ligue 1 club Nice, where he is already the controlling owner.

Aside from Graham Potter, Palace are also keen on a number of candidates; Michael Carrick, Brendan Rodgers and Adi Hütter have all been shortlisted by chairman Steve Parish.
