Manchester City vs Newcastle – Under 2.5 Goals

  • Manchester City are the most frequent scorers in the Premier League, but they will have to attempt to dismantle the best defensive unit in the division.
  • Newcastle will welcome back Nick Pope, who served his one-game suspension in their League Cup final defeat to United. He has helped keep 12 clean sheets in the league so far, allowing just 15 goals in the process.
  • Although Man City are the only side to put more than two goals past the Magpies this season (3-3 in August), Eddie Howe masterminded a hard-fought, albeit ugly, 0-0 draw against Arsenal in January.
  • The Gunners found it hard to assert their usual rhythmic possession-based style, and we expect City may struggle too by their lofty standards.

Arsenal vs Bournemouth – Arsenal Over 2.5 Goals

  • After being put to the sword by City last weekend, serial-conceders Bournemouth will be sick to the stomach at the though of travelling to North London to face league leaders Arsenal, who have made the Emirates a fortress this season.
  • They have scored 31 goals in 12 home fixtures, and dropped just seven points in front of their home fans.
  • The Gunners ran out 3-0 victors in the reverse of the fixture at the start of the season, and a dazzling four-goal display against Everton on Wednesday is a bad omen for the Cherries.

Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace – Draw

  • Crystal Palace have proved to be a difficult side to beat in recent weeks, drawing five of their last six games including a current run of three stalemates.
  • Aston Villa look a side reborn under Unai Emery, but they remain susceptible to counter attacks, and Palace will trying frustrate them away from home.
  • This is likely to result in a cagey affair, which we think could lead to a share the spoils.

Brighton vs West Ham – Brighton to Win

  • West Ham bounced back from a dismal run of form in style last time out, but their away form ranks as the third-worst in the Premier League – they have lost one, drawn three and lost eight of their 12 games on the road.
  • Brighton return to the south coast after a blank game week last time out that should’ve seen them play Newcastle, and manager Roberto de Zerbi will be vying to get their journey to European football back on track after falling to a narrow defeat against Fulham.
