Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Aurelien Tchouameni is determined to make a name for himself at Real Madrid, despite his recent ‘struggles’ in Spain.
Life in Spain has not been an easy transition for the Frenchman, losing his place in the starting eleven as of late. With his fellow countryman, Eduardo Camavinga, being the preferred option for both league and Champions League fixtures.
The 23-year-old has made 21 appearances in La Liga, with his last full 90 minutes coming in October. A mix of injuries and poor form has dampened the Frenchman’s momentum, but in a recent interview he revealed his determination to succeed regardless of his recent ‘struggles’.
Tchouameni said: “I am confident, I know what I can do. There can be difficult moments in an athlete’s career, and it’s the first time it happened to me — but I’m still learning. There’s a lot of competition at Real and you need to be good to play”.

Before moving to Real Madrid, the young midfielder was being targeted by a host of huge names in European football. The likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, and Juventus had all reportedly shown interest, but it was Madrid that sealed the deal.
His transfer fee to the 14-time UCL champions was one of the highest in the clubs history, costing Los Blancos around £85m. His recent performances may have fans wondering why they spent such a huge amount of money, but his role in France’s World Cup run showed otherwise.
Scoring a superb goal against England in the quarter final showed what the Frenchman can bring to any side in the world. However, Madrid fans are not known for their patience, which could see Tchouameni move on earlier than expected.
