Fabrizio Romano has intrigued Chelsea fans on Twitter as he reveals that Graham Potter will not be involved in Mason Mount’s contract negotiations, but instead will let him ‘get on with it’.
The England international has not had his best season so far, making 25 Premier League appearances and contributing to five goals. Rumours of a possible exit have started to circulate, with the 24-year-old yet to renew his contract at the Blues.
Graham Potter’s move to London was received well by supporters, however the results have not lived up to expectation. Chelsea sit tenth in the table and are eleven points of the top four after spending over £500m since Todd Boehly took over from Roman Abrahamovic.
Despite spending a record amount of money, the west London side boast an impressive amount of academy graduates. Reece James, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Mason Mount have all progressed through the ranks all the way to the first-team, but the latter could be on his way out with contract negotiations ongoing.

Supporters of the Blues have been starved of any real excitement in this campaign, but their Champions League form has been a welcomed distraction. Potter’s side progressed to the quarter-finals of the competition after their second-leg victory over-turned a 1-0 deficit against Borussia Dortmund.
Although the Chelsea manager may not be getting involved in Mount’s contract renewal he will be hoping for a bigger impact from the midfielder, as supporters will be itching for silverware in the imminent future.
