Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has rejected an approach from a Saudi Pro League side in favour of a sensational return to boyhood club Cardiff City.
Aaron Ramsey could’ve been the next name in the long list of ex-Premier League stars to make the Saudi Arabia switch, however the Wales captain has reportedly opted to join boyhood club Cardiff City.
Ramsey came through the ranks at Cardiff, making his debut as a fresh faced 16-year-old before switching the Welsh capital for the English capital when he joined Arsenal.
Having spent 11 years with the Gunners, Ramsey’s more recent clubs include the likes of Juventus, Rangers and Nice.
And now, following the termination of his contract with the Ligue 1 side, the Press Association report that the 32-year-old has put his family first by rejecting a mouth-watering Saudi approach in favour of a return to his native Cardiff.
He is said to be currently undergoing his medical with the Championship side, with the Bluebirds keen to complete the deal as soon as possible ahead of the new campaign.

Ramsey enjoyed a decent season in terms of minutes with Nice, turning out for the French outfit on 34 occasions – his most amount of games played in a season since 2019/20 with Juventus.
He also represented his nation at the World Cup in Qatar mid-way through the campaign, where Wales scored just once and failed to win a match as they went crashing out at the group stages.
Gareth Bale’s swift retirement after the competition saw Ramsey re-named as the Welsh captain by Rob Page, a title he briefly held between 2011 and 2012.
His return to Cardiff surely suggests that he is now in the final stages of his career, as the Bluebirds head into a new era under newly-appointed head coach Erol Bulut.
