Everton vs Newcastle Key Stats

The Toffees head into gameweek 15 off the back of a narrow 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest that saw them return to winning ways after suffering a 3-0 loss to Manchester United in the game prior.

That result lifted Sean Dyche’s side off the bottom of the English top flight table, now in 18th – two points from safety, meanwhile the Magpies occupy sixth place ahead of the week’s fixtures – one point behind Tottenham and three points off the top four.

Newcastle recorded a crucial 1-0 victory over the Red Devils in their last league game, following on from a 1-1 stalemate with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and a 4-1 win over Chelsea at St. James’ Park.

Newcastle Boast A Positive Record From Recent Meetings

The Magpies boast an impressive record against Everton in recent times, winning five of their last six meetings stretching back to November 2020 – which includes two triumphs at Goodison Park.

Everton come into this one in strong form though, something that they’ve lacked over the last few seasons, so this is set to be an entirely different prospect in front of an intimidating home atmosphere.

Whether the Toffees can pull off an upset remains to be seen, but it’ll take something special to outdo a Newcastle side that have already beaten the likes of PSG, Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Aston Villa this term.

Everton In Strong Form Despite Being In The Drop Zone

As previously alluded to, the Toffees are in strong form at the minute. Dyche’s men have turned it up a notch since losing three successive league matches at the start of the term, and have lost just four times in 14 matches since the beginning of September.

Only one of those defeats was an unexpected one too as they were beaten by Luton at Kenilworth Road at the end of September, with the other three defeats being to Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.

One thing those losses do highlight though, is that Everton struggle against sides higher up in the table – which could pose a problem for the visit of Newcastle, who can move into the top five with a victory on Thursday if other results go in their favour.
