After narrowly avoiding relegation by beating Bournemouth on the final day of the 2022/23 season, Everton remain a Premier League club for at least another year. As Sean Dyche’s side prepare for another season in the English top flight, the 2023/24 Everton Premier League fixtures have been released this morning.
Frank Lampard started the season at the helm at Goodison Park, but his tenure was short-lived as he was sacked in January after winning just once in 11 matches – a return that saw them in a relegation battle.
Sean Dyche was identified as the man for the job to keep the Toffees’ Premier League status in-tact, and that’s exactly what he did.
On the final day of the campaign, Dyche’s side narrowly defeated Bournemouth, securing their survival, and condemning Leicester City to Championship football for the 2023/24 season.
After last season’s chaotic schedule with the World Cup squashed half way through the season, the schedule returns to its usual format, except for the introduction of a winter break.
Like many top European leagues, the Premier League will now have a week long break in the winter to give players a rest due to the jam-packed schedules throughout the term, which will take place between January 13th-20th.
Aside from those minor changes in the winter, the traditional late summer start date around mid-August remains the same, with Everton’s opening fixture at Craven Cottage against Fulham on the 12th kicking off a fresh start.
The Toffees’ final day fixture against Arsenal is scheduled to be a full nine days before this year’s prolonged date, with the season wrapping up on the 19th May, 2024.
