Everton have had the week from hell; deducted 10 points by the Premier League for breaching the rules of financial fair play. To make matters worse they’re facing Manchester United on Sunday. A team they have a horrid time against.
What record are Everton set to face?
The Blues have lost 39 times to United in the Premier League (W10 D13) and could become the first side to lose 40 games against one opponent in the competition’s history. They’ll be eager to put a stop to that embarrassment on Sunday.
In the past eight years, Everton have only one three times; not taking full advantage of Manchester United’s downfall. Eight of Everton’s win against United have come at Goodison Park.
The last time Everton beat Manchester United was April 2022. Anthony Gordon scored the winner in a close 1-0 victory.
Everton and Manchester United’s form this season
Manchester United have improved their away day form with three wins out of five so far this season. Everton have taken seven points from their last three games and were pulling away from the relegation places before their 10-point deduction pulled them back in.
Everton will be hoping for a result as they try and climb out of the bottom three once again.
Manchester United can’t move up with a win as there’s a four-point gap between them and Aston Villa in fifth. They could easily move down as far as eighth with anything less than a win.
Are Everton protesting on Sunday?
The atmosphere will be electric at Goodison with many Everton fans protesting against the Premier League following their investigation into Everton’s financial breaches.
Supporters are printed 38 thousand signs that have a message regarding their belief in the Premier League being corrupt.

Everton will be hoping Manchester United supporters join in with the protests as more of an anti-Premier League agenda than a supporting Everton one.
It may be a united atmosphere before the game but after there might be some tension depending on the scoreline.
