Manchester United Team News: No New Concerns But No Returns Either

Ten Hag’s side has been hit by several injuries of late. Their main centre-half pairing of Lisandro Martínez and Raphael Varane are out. In their absence, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw have stepped up and filled the void. Lindelof and Shaw are both expected to start the Brighton game.

Alejandro Garnacho has enjoyed a fantastic first full season. He’s impressed that much that he’s earned a new long-term contact. The young Argentine isn’t expected to be fit enough for the Brighton game, but he’s making good progress. On Garnacho, ten Hag said:

“I think we have one training [session], but I think it’s too soon to be available.

“I think he is short [of full fitness]. I think he needs some training and then, in short notice, he will be available.”

On Varane and Scott McTominay, ten Hag confirmed the pair are still a little way off:

“The prognosis, I think Rapha is closer than Scott McTominay in this moment.

“But still they are, for the coming two games [Brighton and West Ham], they are not available.”
