Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has reassured supporters that his side will begin to improve and be at their best in the near future despite an uninspiring start to the campaign.
United are coming off the back of an embarrassing 3-0 derby defeat to Manchester City last weekend and many fans have already lost faith in the current squad at Old Trafford.
Prior to Sunday’s loss, the Red Devils had scraped two Premier League wins against Brentford and Sheffield United before Andre Onana’s 97th minute penalty save ensured they got a first Champions League victory on the board against Copenhagen.
Ten Hag’s side sit eighth in the league table, face an uphill battle to get out of their Champions League group, and are at risk of dropping out of the EFL Cup if they lose to Newcastle in Manchester tonight.
Despite the worrying signs, the Dutchman told the media he continues to believe in his players and his side will turn a corner in the near future
“I continue to believe in these players and am confident we will improve after a difficult start to the season.
“Everything we have achieved together so far has been built on looking forward, which means we have to move on quickly.”

The former Ajax boss knows the pressure that comes with being in the hot seat at Manchester United and the vast number of injury problems have dealt him a poor hand to start the season.
“I believe that it’s matter of time before we are showing our true selves. It will come, I am certain.
“At Man Utd, every game involves high stakes. Every single day, there is pressure on everybody involved with this club. But we will our best soon, I’m sure.”
