Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has pleaded with Harry Kane to stay at Spurs, as a move to another Premier League side could ‘ruin his legacy.’
Harry Kane has been linked to a variety of clubs over the last few years, with Manchester City looking set to sign him last Summer. The England captain even missed training sessions to try and force a move to Pep Guardiola’s side, however talks fell through and Kane stayed in north London.
Berbatov played for Spurs from 2006-2008 appearing 102 times and contributing to 75 goals in all competitions. He then switched London for Manchester on his deadline day move to Manchester United in 2008. Where he won two Premier League titles and one League Cup.
Having first-hand experience in playing for two of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, the Bulgarian has given his opinion on what Tottenham’s leading goalscorer should do.
Berbatov said: “‘I think Harry Kane’s legacy at Tottenham is so big, especially with him becoming the greatest goalscorer in the club’s history, that a move to another team in the Premier League could tarnish that legacy he’s built and would make the fans angry as well.”

The Harry Kane transfer saga is one that football fans have become familiar with and has left many questioning if it could ever happen. Berbatov believes that the rumours will never end as the striker won’t leave his boyhood club.
The 42-year-old said: “First of all, is it going to be another saga of Harry Kane being linked with a move somewhere and nothing happens? This is something that’s happened in the last couple of transfer windows. Based on that, I don’t believe that a move will happen.”
