Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has opened up over a ‘tough’ season at Stamford Bridge, as rumours over a departure this summer continue.
The Blues will look back on the 2022-23 campaign reluctantly, as they finished 12th in the Premier League and recorded the lowest points tally in the club’s history.
Former Brighton manager, Graham Potter, was hired in September following the departure of Thomas Tuchel and after a torrid six-month spell Potter was made surplus to requirements.
His replacement, Frank Lampard, failed to turn things around at the club he previously coached in 2019-2021 and the Blues ended the season without a single victory over any side in the top six.
This poor performance has made summer signings a priority, as Todd Boehly looks to continue the huge spending spree that saw Chelsea spend over £500m in the last two windows.
However, with a host of additions expected to join this summer, the Blues are set to lose tenacious midfielder, Conor Gallagher, who has attracted interest from a multitude of Premier League sides.

The former Crystal Palace loanee made 45 appearances in all competitions, in what was a difficult year for the 23-year-old. In a recent interview Gallagher opened up about a ‘tough’ season and his determination to stay at his boyhood club.
The Blues ace said: “I love Chelsea, it has been a tough season for me and the whole team so I think we will just be working hard to get us back to where we belong”
Despite this, the midfielder has attracted interest from Brighton and Newcastle, who are both preparing for European football next season.
