Chelsea’s Cole Palmer offered teammate Nicolas Jackson some brutal advice following the Senegalese striker’s 22-minute hat-trick against bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

What Happened In The Spurs Vs. Chelsea Game?

In a game in which VAR once again took centre stage, Spurs made a ferocious start to proceedings when Dejan Kulusevski opened the scoring in the 6th minute.

However, following two possible red card incidents for Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero, along with two disallowed Chelsea goals for Raheem Sterling and Moises Caicedo, Cristian Romero would eventually give away a penalty and see red for a high challenge on Enzo Fernandez.

Former Manchester City youngster Cole Palmer stepped up to take the spot-kick and cooly pulled Chelsea level in the 35th minute of the game.

Destiny Udogie then picked up a second booking for an overzealous tackle on Raheem Sterling, reducing Ange Postecoglu’s men down to 9.

After a host of missed opportunities from Chelsea, Nicolas Jackson went on to score a 22-minute hat-trick to put to an end Spurs’ unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign.

What Did Cole Plamer Say About Nicolas Jackson?

After a difficult to life in west London, Jackson sits in fourth place for big chances missed in the Premier League on 8 and has, unsurprisingly, struggled for goals.

However, despite scoring a hat-trick in a London derby, Chelsea forward Cole Palmer insists that Jackson must “work harder” in training.

Speaking to Sky Sports alongside Jackson after the game, Palmer said: “It’s been a difficult start for him, no hiding it, but he was brilliant tonight. He just needs to keep his head down and work harder in training and he will get many more hat-tricks.”

Confused, the interviewer responded: “You say work harder?”

To which Plamer replied: “Of course. You can always work harder.”

In response to Palmer’s comments, the Senegalese striker responded: “Always need to improve, always need to work harder. We continue working. Now this is past, so we forget about it and move forward. I am very happy and it has been a difficult time for everybody in the team. We are coming back really slowly and happy to have scored three goals. It’s my first hat-trick, so I am happy to have done it with the biggest club in England and everywhere. We were dreaming about winning the big games and the confidence within the team is coming really slowly.”

Despite victory over Spurs, there is no respite for Mauricio Pochettino’s players as they face an in-form Manchester City side on Sunday, November 12.
