Chelsea entered today’s London derby with Fulham looking to get back on winning terms after a three-game win streak in all competitions was put to an end in midweek as the Blues fell to defeat in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie with Championship outfit Middlesbrough.
Chelsea, who had won their last three Premier League outings, aimed to capitalise on Fulham’s poor form in recent times. The Cottagers had lost three of their last five in all competitions but their last league game was a 2-1 win over Arsenal at home, so they have more than enough ability to pull off an upset.
On the stroke of half-time, Blues attacker Cole Palmer scored his ninth goal of the league campaign from the penalty spot to give the hosts a deserved lead. The 21-year-old has converted all five efforts from 12-yards this season following his £40m move from Manchester City.
Chelsea held on to claim a fourth consecutive league win at Stamford Bridge, marking their longest win streak in the competition since July 2020. The result moves the Blues up to eighth in the table, whilst Fulham remain in 13th.

Up next for Chelsea is cup semi-final second leg vs Middlesbrough to look forward to as Mauricio Pochettino‘s side look to erase a one-goal deficit to reach the final at Wembley.
As for Fulham, Marco Silva’s side will aim to bounce back from consecutive defeats when they host title challengers Liverpool at Craven Cottage in midweek.
