Chelsea Reach Full Agreement To Sign Villarreal Frontman Nicolas Jackson

Fabrizio Romano has exclusively revealed that Chelsea have reached a full agreement with La Liga side Villarreal to sign their star striker Nicolas Jackson.

Chelsea have reportedly reached a full agreement with Villarreal in order to sign Senegalese forward Nicolas Jackson.

Jackson was close to a Premier League move in January, but for a deal with Bournemouth to fall through due to an injury.

But now, his move to the English top-flight looks all but confirmed as he looks set to become the first signing to kickstart the Mauricio Pochettino era.

The news comes from Fabrizio Romano, who says that Villarreal have accepted that Chelsea will pay just over the €35million release clause to sign their star striker.

Romano also confirmed on Friday afternoon that personal terms have been agreed, and that a medical is being scheduled.

“Chelsea have finally reached full agreement to sign Nicolas Jackson, here we go!” he tweeted.

“Understand Villarreal accepted Chelsea to pay just bit more than €35m release clause but better payment terms using installments.

“Medical being scheduled, personal terms agreed.”

Jackson joined Villarreal from Senegalese side Casa Sports as an 18-year-old in 2019, linking up with their youth and ‘B’ teams.

Now 22-years-old, his La Liga breakthrough came towards the latter end of last season, before netting his first goal for the club last August.

Since then, Jackson was ever-present in the lineup, rounding off his first full season with the first team with 13 goals in all competitions, coupled with five assists.

He has also become a senior international for the Senegalese national team, making his debut in their opening match of the recent World Cup in Qatar.
