Chelsea are reportedly a step closer in their pursuit of Crystal Palace star, Michael Olise, as the Blues prepare a staggering £45m bid.

The Blues are moving a step closer to the signature of Michael Olise, after agreeing personal terms with the Palace star. A deal could be agreed in the coming days as the 21-year-old has a release clause at around £45m.

Olise had a respectable campaign during the 2022-23 season, contributing to 13 goals and being a pivotal member during Roy Hodgson’s return.

The veteran manager has been confirmed as the man to guide the club through the Premier League next season and has already seen a huge change at Selhurst Park – as Wilfried Zaha has joined Galatasaray.

The Ivorian’s departure has been expected over recent months, due to his contract at the club coming to an end. His exit could be the catalyst in Olise’s imminent transfer and according to reports, the Frenchman is set to join Chelsea for £45m.

The Blues started the 2023-24 campaign strongly, with an impressive performance against top six rivals, Liverpool. Mauricio Pochettino’s side looked much improved following last season’s disappointing display and Enzo Fernandez, Levi Colwill and Nicolas Jackson looked full of confidence.

Summer signings have been a regular occurrence in recent months, with Axel Disasi, Robert Sanchez, Christopher Nkunku, Jackson all joining the club.

Moises Caicedo is set to be the next player to move to Stamford Bridge, as the Ecuadorian is moments away from completing a £115m deal from Brighton.

Adding Olise to the squad would take Chelsea’s spening this window to £338m (including the Caicedo deal) highlighting the faith Todd Boehly has in his new manager.

Palace have been adamant on their stance, claiming they want to keep the Frenchman at Selhurst Park, however, the player is keen on a move to the capital this month.
