Fulham are on the verge of having to pay Chelsea the full £4million loan fee for Armando Broja.

Chelsea Set To Land £4m From Fulham Over Broja Loan

Blues striker Armando Broja joined the Cottagers on deadline day in a temporary deal for the remainder of the season, however he has failed to start a single game so far.

Under the terms of the agreement when he signed, Fulham had the chance to pay next to nothing if he featured in Marco Silva’s starting line-up regularly.

It is understood that if he started ten matches, the loan fee would have been less than £500,000 – but if that was not the case, Fulham would need to pay Chelsea a £4million fee.

This means that Cottagers are set to pay the whole fee if he does not start against Tottenham at the weekend, as they will then have just nine matches left to play before the season draws to a close.

The technical agreement is understood to be that he needed to start 60 percent of matches during his loan spell for Fulham to pay the reduced fee, but that is now unlikely to happen.

Broja has been afforded minimal opportunities within the first team due to the sudden rise of Rodrigo Muniz. The Brazilian has started each of his side’s last six Premier League matches, netting five and assisting once in an impressive spell of form since the start of February.

This has hampered Chelsea’s chances of getting the £50million they value Broja at – but Fulham will be quietly satisfied that the value of Muniz has increased since the Blues striker arrived at Craven Cottage.

The Cottagers host Spurs on Saturday and Muniz is expected to keep his place in the line-up once more, supported in attack by the likes of Harry Wilson, Andreas Pereira and Alex Iwobi.
