Chelsea have officially announced the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as the club’s head coach, with the Argentine signing on a two-year deal with an option to extend for a further year.

Mauricio Pochettino has officially been appointed as Chelsea‘s new head coach on a two-year contract, the club has confirmed.

Pochettino had been rumoured to take over from Frank Lampard as Blues boss ahead of next season for several months, but we now have official confirmation.

He will begin his role with the club on 1 July 2023 on a two-year deal, with the club having an option to extend for a further year.

The 51-year-old has been without a job since parting ways with Paris Saint-Germain last year, where he guided the club to a Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France.

He also has a wealth of Premier League experience, having previously managed Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.
