According to UK betting sites, Chelsea and Manchester United are favourites to sign Brighton and World Cup winning midfielder, Alexis Mac Allister.

Brighton have shocked the Premier League with their consistent performances this season, with many fans questioning the club after Graham Potter was allowed to depart. However, Roberto De Zerbi has continued where the former manager left off and the Seagulls are now in contention for European football.

One man that has been pivotal to their success is midfielder, Alexis Mac Allister. The Argentine signed back in 2019 for £7m and has been a revelation under De Zerbi, making 22 appearances in the league which includes eight goal contributions.

Performances in club competitions have attracted interest from some of Europe’s elite sides, however it was his display in Argentina’s historic World Cup triumph that really caught the eye. Playing alongside Lionel Messi, the 24-year-old made a huge impact for his national side- getting an assist in the final against France.

As previously mentioned, Mac Allister has attracted interest from some huge clubs which could see him move on from the Seagulls. Chelsea and Manchester United are favourites to land the Argentine, as both clubs look to bolster their squad for next season.

The Blues sit tenth in the Premier League and have failed to live up to their recent transfer antics. New owner, Todd Boehly has spent over £5oom since taking over last year, but his investment is yet to be rewarded. The Blues are still competing in the Champions League, facing Real Madrid in the quarter finals.

On the other hand, Erik ten Hag has enjoyed great success during his first season in Manchester- winning the club their first trophy in six years. The Red Devils are still in all four competitions and could be on their way to a Europa League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup treble.

However, Chelsea have recently signed Mac Allister’s international teammate Enzo Fernandez, who occupies a similar position in midfield. Meaning a move to Manchester may be the smarter option, with the club in desperate need for midfield reinforcements.
