Brighton are reportedly interested in making a move for Arsenal star, Reiss Nelson, despite the 23-year-old’s recent contract talks with the Gunners.

The Seagulls are having a superb season under Roberto De Zerbi, as they sit four points from 5th, with two games in hand. The Italian took over the club in September last year, after Graham Potter’s surprise move to Premier League stragglers, Chelsea.

Their stellar performances have travelled across the competitions, reaching the FA Cup semi final for thr first time in almost 30 years.

Recent additions, Kaoru Mitoma, Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister have been pivotal in the club’s success and rumours of further signings have started to circulate.

Brighton have reportedly shown an interest in Arsenal star, Reiss Nelson, with the winger’s deal at the Emirates coming to an end this season.

The Gunners have offered Nelson an extended deal at the club, but an agreement between both parties is yet to be agreed.

His time under Mikel Arteta has been underwhelming, only playing 138 minutes in the Premier League, so far. However, the Brit has contributed to five goals and has the highest G+A per 90 in the league, proving how dangerous he can be.

Nelson has enjoyed fruitful loan spells during his time in north London, being a key player for Hoffenheim and Feyenoord.

However, the reports suggest that this switch would be on a permanent deal and could give the former Feyenoord a chance to shine in England’s top-flight.

Signing Nelson may be a welcomed distraction, as the previously mentioned Mitoma, Caicedo and Mac Allister have all been linked with moves away from the Amex.

The Arsenal star could be a direct replacement for the Japanese international, with both players being strongest on the wing.
