Brentford vs Wolves (1-4) Report: Hee-Chan Hwang Nets Second Premier League Double
The hosts came into tonight’s Premier League clash off the back of three straight defeats and a good chance to get back in the win column. As for Wolves, Gary O’Neil’s men were still buzzing off a 2-1 win over Chelsea on Christmas Eve and looking to continue their momentum.
Mario Lemina opened the scoring for the visitors after just 13 minutes before Hee-Chan Hwang latched onto a costly mistake from Nathan Collins to double Wolves’ lead 60 seconds later and send the away end into oblivion.
Two minutes later, Yoane Wissa responded in style to get the home side back in it but the Wolves lead was extended to two for a second time 12 minutes later as Hwang recorded his second Premier League double and his tenth goal of the campaign.
It was a night to forget for Collins who gifted the ball right to Matheus Cunha with ten minutes to play and the Brazilian played a smart pass to substitute Jean-Ricner Bellegarde to wrap up the three points with his second goal for the club.
What Next For Brentford & Wolves?
Brentford have now lost four on the spin but they’ll see Saturday’s match-up with Crystal Palace as a good chance of getting a desperately needed win. Palace haven’t won in almost two months and are without victory in their last eight league games after a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Wednesday.
Wolves can extend their winning streak to three with a win against Everton at home this weekend. They’re undefeated in their last five outings against the Toffees including four wins and could move into the top half of the table with three points.
