Brazil Stats: The Goalscorers
The star of the show in Brazil’s record-breaking win was undoubtedly Palmeiras wonderkid Estevao Willian, nicknamed Messinho, who recorded a hat-trick of assists and managed to get on the score sheet himself. His three assists came in the 28th, 44th and 46th minutes with his goal coming after 39 minutes.
Rayan Vitor (2), Luighi, Kaua Elias Nogueira(3), Vitor Reis and Joao Victor were also on target at the Jakarta International Stadium.
Up Next For Brazil
Phelipe Leal’s side take on 2017 winners England in Jakarta on November 17 with the Young Lions boasting a 100%-win rate after they beat Iran 2-1 on Tuesday. It will be an intriguing clash as two of the finest nations at U17 level go head-to-head in the Indonesian capital.
Brazil know they must win, having lost to Iran on matchday one and with the West Asians facing whipping boys New Caledonia in the final group game, a win is more than likely for Hossein Abdi’s side.
However, if Brazil were to end up third in Group C, they could still ensure their place in the last 16 as the four best third-placed teams will also qualify.
