Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has threatened seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi on Twitter after the Argentina forward appeared to ‘disrespect Mexico’.
In a spat on Twitter, which nobody would have expected – Canelo directed a few tweets towards Lionel Messi. The Mexican boxing great aimed a tweet at the Argentina captain after the Argentines defeated Mexico in the second group game of their 2022 World Cup campaign.
The first tweet that Canelo put out was (in English) “They saw Messi cleaning the floor with our shirt and flag?”

The undisputed super-middleweight champion was offended by Messi’s actions, and continued to tweet directly at hime, saying “May I Pray to God that I don’t find him!, which are some pretty stern words for one of the greatest football players of all time.

And the Mexican didn’t stop there… his next tweet translated to “Just as I respect Argentina, you have to respect Mexico!! I’m not talking about the country (Argentina) I’m talking about Messi because of the blow*j** he gave.”
It is clear to see that Canelo and lot’s of Mexicans were angry with Messi’s actions, and they felt disrespected by him. Who knows, could we see Messi take on Canelo in the ring at some point in the future?
