Bookmakers have have slashed odds on Bitcoin hitting $50,000 at any point this year as the cryptocurrency enjoys a revival – with $60,000 achievable according to odds compilers.

2024 Bitcoin Odds: Cryptocurrency Tipped To Rise Year End
Bitcoin launched in January 2009, as it became the first Cryptocurrency to open publicly and was created by a group of programmers under the name Satoshi Nakamoto – a pseudonym whose real name is yet to be revealed.
Over the course of time, BTC has remained prominent throughout the Crypto world and has been joined by a long list of other virtual currencies.
As of 19th January 2024, a single Bitcoin is worth around $41,300 and has not dropped below $30,000 since the beginning of 2024.
Bookmakers have slashed odds on BTC hitting $50,000 in 2024 – having last reached that high in 2017 – to 8/15 and it’s just 2/1 that it hits $60,000 before the year ends.
The highest value a singular Bitcoin has ever reached came in November 2021, reaching $64,899 – which may be why choosing BTC to reach $100,000 this year has been priced at 14/1.
On January 1st 2023, the infamous Cryptocurrency was worth around $16,619 per share and BTC ended 2023 at a value of $42,255 – boasting a 154% increase.
With that said, bookmakers have priced up the option of BTC either ending the year at an increased value from the beginning or ending the year at a lower price than it started.
Either option has been priced at 10/11, highlighting the unpredictability of Cryptocurrency, however, since it’s origin Bitcoin has only ended a year lower than it began the year three times (2022, 2018 and 2014).
