Billionaire Chelsea Owner Todd Boehly has made a bold Champions League prediction ahead of the club’s huge clash with Real Madrid.

Chelsea’s season has not gone how many supporters would have wanted, re-appointing Frank Lampard after Graham Potter’s shambolic seven month spell.

During his time at Stamford Bridge the former Brighton coach guided the Blues to tenth in the Premier League, making it one of Chelsea’s worst seasons in over a decade.

However, one competition that has acted as a saving grace for the London side is the Champions League, with a colossal quarter final clash against Real Madrid scheduled awaiting them.

Lampard will be hoping for European glory, after his predecessor, Thomas Tuchel brought Chelsea’s second UCL winners medal in 2021.

Boehly, who has spent over half a billion pounds since taking over last year, has shown his confidence for the clash against the current Champions by predicting a “3-0” victory for the English giants.

This confidence may not be mirrored by supporters, following Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Wolves this weekend. Lampard has a huge task on his hands if the Blues want to end the season a high, something the Englishman is fully aware of.

Chelsea’s record goalscorer said: “It’s not where the club wants to be but it’s the reality and we have to work through it. You have to get to a point where you can move forward. We need to lift it.”

The Spanish side come into the tie full of confidence, beating fierce rivals Barcelona 4-1 on aggregate in the Copa Del Ray semi-final. Karim Benzema will be looking to continue their goal scoring form, with the Frenchman scoring four in the previous round.

Will Chelsea be able to stop the current Ballon D’Or holder, or will the Madrid superstar kill any hopes of Boehly’s ‘3-0’ prediction?
