Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have snatched a player from Borussia Dortmund once again, as Raphael Guerreiro arrives on a free transfer, penning a three-year deal.
Raphael Guerreiro has completed his switch to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich from arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund.
It went down to the final day of the season to decide whether Bayern or Dortmund would win the German top-flight, however it was the Bavarians that secured their 11th successive title.
And now, to add salt to the wounds, Thomas Tuchel’s side have signed one of Dortmund’s star players on a free transfer.
Tuchel links up with Guerreiro once again, having previously coached the Portugal international from his time at Dortmund between 2015 and 2017.
The club has confirmed that the left-sided player has penned a three-year deal, keeping him in Munich until June 2026.

Upon completing the signing of Guerreiro, Bayern’s CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen expressed his delight at the move.
“Raphaël Guerreiro has been among the best and most consistent players in the Bundesliga for years.” he told Bayern’s website.
“He’s versatile and internationally experienced, and fits perfectly into our team as both a character and player. We’re very happy that we’ve been able to sign him and that he’ll be wearing the FC Bayern shirt in the future.
“The coach and we as management are in agreement that he will undoubtedly enhance our game.”
Guerreiro himself also had his say upon signing the dotted line.
“When the call came from FC Bayern, I made my decision fast. It’s an honour for me to be able to play for this great club, and I also regard Thomas Tuchel highly from our time together at Dortmund.” he said.
“I’m a player who always wants the ball – it’s about controlling the game and I want to create chances.
“I’ll give my all so that we win as many titles as possible. That’s the philosophy of FC Bayern.”
