Bayern Munich have addressed rumours linking veteran, Thomas Muller, with a move away from the Bundesliga giants in the summer window.
The German champions are having a poor season for their lofty standards, being eliminated from the Champions League with a 4-1 thrashing to Manchester City.
Former manager, Julian Nagelsmann, was made surplus to requirements following ‘unsatisfactory’ results and his replacement, Thomas Tuchel, has failed to improve things in Munich.
Sitting top of the table, a point clear of Borussia Dortmund in second, Tuchel’s side are in their closest title run for over a decade and were eliminated from the DFB Pokal once again.
One player that has failed to earn a place in the German’s starting lineup is veteran, Thomas Muller. The 33-year-old has made 24 appearances in the league, contributing to 13 goals in the process.
However, the German has started on the bench for the club’s last two league matches, in which they claimed back-to-back victories. Sparking rumours over a possible exit in the summer, talks that have been addressed by the 2020 Champions League winners.

Oliver Kahn, CEO at Munich said: “That’s not going to happen. Thomas is fit, never injured, he has a very strong character. He’s extremely important. I’m certain that Thomas will still play so many games for us.”
The German star has made 663 appearances during his 14-year spell at the club, scoring a staggering 234 goals. However, after falling out-of-favour under Tuchel, many questioned the player’s future in Munich.
Despite the club squashing the rumours surrounding Muller, the German international could still be on the move in the summer.
Previous transfer windows have seen Manchester United show interest, however, due to the forward being in the latter stages of his career – we may see Muller leaving Europe altogether.
His current contract runs out in 2024, with the option to extend the deal by another year. Yet, it remains to be seen whether the German will stay for the duration of his deal.
