Bayer Leverkusen Demand £50m for Moussa Diaby Amid Aston Villa Interest

Bayer Leverkusen have set a £50m asking price on winger Moussa Diaby, with the German side confident they can get the a big fee for their star amid Premier League interest.

Aston Villa have become the latest of many clubs to register their interest in Moussa Diaby this summer, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle all reportedly looking at the winger.

Leverkusen have just set a steep £50m price tag on their young winger, which would break Villa’s current transfer record of £38m for Emi Buendia.

The 24-year-old Frenchman caught the eye of Premier League clubs last season after yet another impressive campaign for Leverkusen, recording nine goals and nine assists in the Bundesliga.

Diaby missed just one game for Leverkusen last season and his impressive work ethic and numbers in Germany was enough to see some top English side’s come knocking this year.

Aston Villa enjoyed one of their best seasons in recent years as they secured a spot in next year’s Europa League with Unai Emery at the helm.

With Villa in Europe next season, Emery is looking to strengthen his squad that will need much more depth if they are to survive against some of Europe’s most elite sides.

The midlands side have already added former Leicester star Youri Tielemans to their squad, but they are in need of more attacking options ahead of what will be a demanding season.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle will all compete in the Champions League next season and as they also look to build on squad depth, Diaby could be persuaded to transfer to one of the top six over Villa.
