Atletico Madrid Set To End Joao Felix Saga As Barcelona Move Edges Closer

Atletico Madrid star, Joao Felix, is reportedly close to ending his turbulent summer transfer window as the Portugal international edges closer to joining Barcelona.

The La Liga giants, according to reports, have agreed terms to sign Joao Felix, following the loan departure of Ansu Fati to Brighton.

The wantaway Atletico Madrid star shocked many when he declared his desire to join the Blaugrana earlier in the summer.

The former Chelsea loanee had cut all ties at the Metropolitano, as he expressed his disappointment at returning to the Spanish capital and even trained with the reserve side.

Atletico Madrid’s higher-ups have been vocal over the imminent departure of their Portuguese star, with CEO Enrique Cerezo speaking over how the issue is currently being resolved.

Cerezo said: “Today he is still at Atletico. We are waiting to see how this issue is resolved and we wait 48 hours. You will soon know. He wants to go to Barcelona, ​​he already said it, and we are waiting if they decide or not. More offers? There are always offers for the great players.”

Felix’s move appears to be imminent and rumours have circulated as his plane is reportedly heading for Barcelona.

Barcelona cannot afford to buy Felix, but Atletico Madrid are willing to let Felix leave on loan, providing his salary is covered by Xavi’s side and they add a further €8million.

According to Cadena SER, the deal has been sealed. Miguel Martin Talavera says that the terms have been agreed between Atletico, Barcelona and Felix.

Barcelona must now make the required moves during the final day of the transfer market in order to fit Felix into their salary limit.

Joao Felix signed for Atletico in 2019 for €126m, contributing to 52 goals in 131 matches and failed has failed to live up to expectations.
