Everton have started the season in a similar fashion as to many would have expected based on another lucklustre season in 2022/23, but despite their poor form on the whole – they secured their first Premier League win of the campaign on Saturday.

It isn’t a win that should be frowned upon either, as they triumphed 3-1 over a resolute Brentford side who had lost just once in the league prior to that clash.
