Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal youngster, Emile Smith-Rowe, with the forward falling out-of-favour this season.

Breaking into the first-team in 2028, Smith-Rowe was one of the brightest academy graduates to play for the Gunners in recent years.

His loan moves to RB Leipzig and Huddersfield showed his quality, earning him a spot in the Arsenal first-team on a consistent basis.

The Englishman has scored 18 goals and contributed with 10 assists during his time in north London and looked to be a big part in Arsenal’s future success.

The Gunners are in their first title race in over a decade, sitting top of the table and will face their competitors, Manchester City, in a huge Premier League title clash on April 26th.

However, this season has not gone according to plan for the 22-year-old, as injuries have impacted the midfielder’s momentum. Failing to register a goal and appearing in nine matches, Smith-Rowe has fallen out-of-favour under Mikel Arteta.

With the Gunners progressing at an electric pace, the former RB Leipzig loanee may be left behind and looking for a new club over the summer.

One club that are reportedly interested in signing the midfielder is Aston Villa. The Villains are on a superb six-match undefeated streak, winning five in a row.

Villa’s manager, Unai Emery, has worked with the Arsenal star before during his spell in the capital and may be hoping for a reunion next season.

The midlands-based club have been lead by lethal marksman, Ollie Watkins, who after scoring 14 goals already has attracted interest from Arsenal.

A possible cash plus swap-deal could be on the cards, however given the striker’s recent form, it may cost the Gunners more than they are willing to offer.
