Aston Villa are reportedly ‘weighing up’ a move for Brentford captain, Ivan Toney, with rumours over Ollie Watkins’ exit beginning to circulate.
The Villains are enjoying an extremely successful season, as they sit 6th in the Premier League and currently boast an impressive 10-match undefeated streak.
Manager, Unai Emery, has been a revelation since taking over from Steven Gerrard late last year, guiding the club to European contention. Victories over, Chelsea, Newcastle and Manchester United have cemented their place amongst the league’s best.
One player that has symbolised this new lease of life, is England international, Ollie Watkins. The Villa striker has scored 14 league goals so far, meaning he is one goal away from making it his most prolific season in the top division.
These performances have caught the attention of Arsenal, who are reportedly interested in bringing the Villa star to the Emirates.
As these rumours circulate, the Villains are looking for possible striking options, with Brentford captain, Ivan Toney, being high on the rumoured shortlist.

The England international has scored 19 Premier League goals so far, and has been a vital member in Thomas Frank’s squad. The Bees are also in European contention, after securing superb result’s against the ‘big six’.
Toney has become a household name in English football, earning himself a place in Gareth Southgate’s last England squad – achieving his first cap against Ukraine.
Scoring goals, whilst also providing them, the Brentford captain could be a shrewd piece of business for Unai Emery’s side. As he also holds an impressive penalty record, missing only 1 during his time at the Bees.
The deal depends on Ollie Watkins, and what his future holds – with Arsenal showing interest in the striker. However, signing Toney could cost Aston Villa over £50m, which would be the most expensive transfer fee in the club’s history.
