Arsenal have reportedly ended their long-held interest in Brighton and Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo, with Chelsea and Manchester United now set to go head-to-head for his signature.

After two failed bids and months of being linked in the press, Arsenal have withdrawn their interest in Moises Caicedo.

The Times are reporting that the Gunners were favourites to land the Ecuadorian international, but are now no longer in the mix for his signature.

Earlier in the week it was reported that Mikel Arteta’s side had growing fears that Chelsea would beat them to sign the Brighton midfielder due to his agent wanting to secure more money, something the big-spending Blues could certainly offer.

And now, it seems Chelsea and Manchester United are set to go head-to-head in the race to sign the 21-year-old.

Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move for Caicedo in recent days, and are continuing to monitor his situation.

Chelsea are working hard on the deal to bring Caicedo to Stamford Bridge, as confirmed by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

“Chelsea are working hard on Moisés Caicedo deal. Talks have been taking place for weeks. Nothing done yet.” Romano tweeted.

“It has always been Chelsea frontrunners despite rumours of Arsenal bid in the last weeks.

“Arsenal focus remains on Declan Rice and Havertz.”
