Arsenal vs Manchester City Team News & Injury Update

There’s been plenty of worry amongst the Gunners fanbase heading into this one, as both Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka have both been marked as major doubts for the tie.

Martinelli has failed to feature since coming off with an injury against Everton over three weeks ago, meanwhile Saka was forced off in the midweek Champions League defeat to Lens.

The pair have returned to training though, and if reports ahead of the crunch clash at the Emirates are anything to go by, they will both be part of Arsenal’s squad for City’s visit.

Mikel Arteta’s only other injury worry is Jurrien Timber, who remains out and faces a long spell on the sidelines after suffering an ACL injury in the Gunners’ opening game of the season.

As for City, it was good news in midweek as Bernardo Silva returned to action after spending a few weeks on the sidelines with a leg injury, and John Stones also returned to Cityzens training so he could have a part to play in Sunday’s clash.

Both Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne are Pep Guardiola’s confirmed absentees, as the former serves the final match of his three game suspension, and the latter remains out with a long-term thigh injury.
