Arsenal moved 8 points clear at the top of the Premier League tonight after a huge 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur, with an own goal from Hugo Lloris and a stunner from Martin Ødegaard securing all three points.
The Gunners were incredibly dominant in the first half and and took the lead after 14 minutes when Lloris’ huge mistake allowed Bukayo Saka’s cross-shot to somehow end up in the back of the net.
They continued to pile pressure onto the Spurs defence and Ødegaard ended up doubling their lead with a stylish 25-yard strike.
Arsenal’s win allowed them to jump to favourites to lift the Premier League title for the first time this season.

Mikel Arteta’s side are unbeaten in 12 Premier League games now, and it’s fair to say that the Gunners really are in the drivers seat going into the second half of the season. However, they do have some crucial fixtures coming up over the next month.
They face Manchester United next Sunday at the Emirates at 4:30pm, before a trip to the Etihad to face their close rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup 4th round just five days later.
Then arguably the biggest game of the season is on February 15th, when the London side host City in the league in a mammoth clash.
