Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Leeds United youngster, Wilfried Gnonto, despite Manchester City also showing interest in the 19-year-old.

Leeds Transfer News

Championship football has returned to Elland Road once again, as Leeds were relegated from the Premier League on the final day of the season.

The Whites were swept aside by Tottenham Hotspur in their last league fixture, confirming their place in the bottom three alongside Leicester City and Southampton.

Sam Allardyce was unable to keep the Yorkshire-based club in England’s top-flight, failing to win a single match during his four-game tenure.

Relegation has already brought a host of possible exits this summer, as Brendan Aaronson and Jack Harrison are both set to leave the club in the coming months.

Another player who could be moving elsewhere is Italian international, Wilfried Gnonto, as the 19-year-old has attracted interest from both Arsenal and Manchester City.

The tricky winger had an impressive opening season in the Premier League, making 24 appearances and contributed to six goals.

However, the Italian fell out-of-favour towards the latter stages of the season, as he only played a full 90 minutes once during Leeds United’s final 10 matches.

Despite this, both Arsenal and Manchester City are interested in landing the teenager’s signature and the Gunners are reportedly prepared to meet the £25m price tag.

Mikel Arteta is set to add a host of players to his squad this summer, with Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo both rumoured to join the side from north London.

Equally, Manchester City are planning to bolster their squad for next season, which may prove difficult if they manage to complete the illustrious ‘treble’.
