Arsenal legend Ian Wright says he is not “worried” about Arsenal’s poor form but suggests they need to start taking their chances in front of goal.

Arsenal’s Poor Form

Arsenal now sit five points adrift of table toppers Liverpool having won just one of their last five games in the Premier League.

To add insult to injury, Mikel Arteta’s side were cruelly dumped out of the FA Cup 3rd round by Liverpool earlier in the month.

Two late goals from the Merseyside club capitalised on a host of missed chances from the Gunners and saw Jurgen Klopp’s side progress to the next round.

In response to Arsenal’s loss against Liverpool, Wright posted a Tweet stating “We need a killer.”, referring to the lack of cutting edge on show from the north London side.

Wright On Arsenal’s Struggles

Commenting on the Gunners impotence in front of goal, Wright believes there is no cause for concern as long as they continue to create chances.

Speaking on the Stick To Football Podcast, the ex-Arsenal striker said: “Arsenal must start taking chances.

“If we weren’t creating chances, then I’d be worried, but currently we’ve got players who aren’t firing.

“Defensively, having Declan Rice in there and William Saliba fit – those two defensively has made us stronger. I don’t believe we are getting the ball into Martin Odegaard who is off form, into Bukayo Saka who is the same, and Gabriel Martinelli.

“The play up to there is okay, but then we’re not being able to make things happen in the top end of the field.‌ If we [Arsenal] were taking some of those chances, even though we haven’t played brilliantly, the way we’ve been defending has been a lot better – and we’d nick a couple of games 1-0 or 2-1, and we’d be feeling a lot better.

“People are feeling negative because we’ve lost a few games, and we don’t look like we’re going to score.”

Arsenal face Crystal Palace at the Emirates on Saturday where they will be hoping to get their season back on track.
