After his recent goal scoring form, it’s no wonder Ollie Watkins transfer news is making the headlines. Arsenal are looking at the striker, who sees Arsenal as a ‘dream’ move.
Both the player and club have big ends of the season ahead of them. Watkins will be keen to keep scoring and add his to 14 goals so far this season. Arsenal are in a battle to for the Premier League title with Manchester City.
Watkins added another two goals to his total in Villa’s clash with Newcastle United yesterday. The striker did so with England manager, Gareth Southgate, watching on from the stands.

Watkins Transfer News: A Move To Arsenal On The Cards?
It wasn’t just the England manager keeping tabs on the Villa talisman. League leaders Arsenal are one team with interest in the former Brentford forward.
Watkins currently has a deal that runs until June 2025. However, it’s believed Villa are keen to extend that deal and bump up his wages to £100,000-a-week.
Despite the rumours of a new contract on the table, an offer by Arsenal may be too tempting for Watkins to turn down. In 2020, while playing for Brentford the forward said, “Yeah, that’s the dream, to play for Arsenal one day.”
There is no better time than now to sign for the Gunners. Under Mikel Arteta they’ve seen a revival and are now in contention to win their first Premier League title since the 2003/04 season.
Watkins, at 27-years-old, would be a different signing to many we’ve seen at Arsenal this season. Arteta has focused more on bringing young players into the club, whilst slowly blooding in academy players. Arsenal’s average age in their squad is 24.4, the youngest in the whole league.
Despite that, Arteta has brought in experienced players to help the younger players. Jorghino signed from Chelsea in January. His experience will be used to help push Arsenal over the line in the Premier League title race.
Watkins is hitting his prime though, and he has Premier League and international experience. A move for him may be on the cards for Arsenal this summer.
Close attention will be paid to Watkins transfer news as we come closer to the summer transfer window.
