The second fight between Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte could be back on after Team AJ have removed the rematch clause that Team Whyte were opposed to. Could we see Joshua vs Whyte 2 fight on August 12th?

Joshua vs Whyte 2 Back ON After Rematch Clause Is Removed

Boxing fans could well be in for a treat come August 12th as the rematch between Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte looks like it could be back ON.

Having fought back in December 2015, with ‘AJ’ winning via emphatic knockout in the seventh round, a rematch between the pair of heavyweight stars has been talked about ever since. Now, almost eight years on, it looks like we may finally see Joshua vs Whyte 2.

Earlier this week, it was reported that there was almost no chance of the fight happening due to Team AJ insisting on a rematch clause for the fight. Dillian Whyte and his team were opposed to a rematch clause for their proposed August 12th fight, with the bout looking like it had fallen flat on it’s face.

Now, in another twist in the tail, it looks like the fight could be back on after the rematch clause has been ditched from negotiations.

Joshua vs Whyte 2 All Go As Rematch Clause Is Removed From Negotiations

Many boxing fans and pundits were aggrieved at the supposed rematch clause in the contract between ‘AJ’ and ‘The Body Snatcher’, including former super-middleweight world champion, Carl Froch. Froch was just one of a number of people who slammed Anthony Joshua and his team for wanting a rematch in the contract for the second Dillian Whyte fight on August 12th.

However, much to the delight of the public, that rematch clause has been ditched. It looks like we could see Anthony Joshua and his bitter rival Dillian Whyte once again face off in the ring this year.

Despite the rematch clause rumours and Joshua underperforming in his last fight, ‘AJ’ would likely go into a rematch with Whyte as an overriding betting favourite with the best UK sports betting sites.

Having knocked Whyte out previously almost eight years ago in seven rounds, it would come as no surprise to see the former unified heavyweight world champion odds on to beat his fierce rival once again with the best sports betting apps.

Time will tell if the fight does get finalised, with plenty more barriers and hurdles to overcome before an official announcement is made. However, the rematch clause being revoked from negotiations is certainly a positive and it looks like Joshua vs Whyte 2 is closer to being made than ever before.
