Anthony Joshua dispatched of ‘The Nordic Nightmare’ Robert Helenius with relative ease on Saturday night and he all but confirmed a clash with Deontay Wilder in the post-fight celebrations.

According to the latest odds The Bronze Bomber could be AJ’s next opponent, with Deontay Wilder priced at just 1/2 to be Joshua’s next bout.

‘AJ’ was able to roll back the years with a comfortable knockout on Robert Helenius this weekend, but his next opponent could be much tougher than the Finnish heavyweight.

Deontay Wilder is odds on favourite to be AJ’s next opponent and an announcement is expected to come soon, with the pair planning on meeting in December this year.

Following his round 7 knockout on Saturday, AJ teased a fight against the Bronze Bomber when asked about a potential bout, saying: “I’m just happy we’re getting this fight potentially soon.”

“It does great for boxing. We’ll look back at the era and go ‘that guy fought everyone.’ That’s what’s important. Not protecting your ‘0’.”

Deontay Wilder would be a heavy favourite going into the bout, but Joshua seems to be relishing the opportunity to take on the 37-year-old in what he sees as a stepping stone towards a fight to end all fights against Tyson Fury.

Fury is priced at 7/1 to be AJ’s next opponent, while Dillian Whyte (who was supposed to fight AJ on Saturday before failing a drugs test) is the third favourite at 10/1 to be AJ’s next opponent.
