TalkSPORT’s Andy Goldstein has said Frank Lampard needs to leave ‘basket case of a club’ Chelsea, in order to ever manager again.

In the clip, that you can see below, Andy Goldstein doesn’t hold back on his thoughts about Chelsea at the moment.

The former Chelsea player took interim charge after they sacked Graham Potter. It’s his second time in charge of the club, his first ending after being sacked for poor results.

Andy Goldstein says he worries Lampard might fail to win a game during his time with the club. On the points available, Andy Goldstein says:

“(Nottingham) Forest and Bournemouth are the only games they can pick up points, realistically. Maybe Brentford at home but that’s a tough game.”

Chelsea have got to face those three teams, two of which are fighting for their Premier League status, plus Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle. Their chances to pick up wins to push them up the table looks tough. However, Lampard will be confident his team has the qualities to win anyone. The issue he has is getting the players performing to the levels they can.

Lampard Risking His Future As Andy Goldstein Says?

Andy Goldstein makes clear throughout that he’s concerned about Lampard’s managerial future if he goes winless. His concern is that clubs will look at what he has done with Chelsea during his time, and be fearful to give him a chance.

Andy Goldstein ends his rant by saying that:

“Lampard should think of himself, not the club and leave.”

Lampard’s managerial career got off to a good start at Derby County. He almost guided the club back to the Premier League, missing out in the Championship play-offs.

After his short spell at Derby County, Lampard made the big step to Chelsea. After losing in the FA Cup final and finishing fourth in his first season, he struggled to succeed and faced the axe.

Everton came knocking next for Lampard. He managed to keep the side up after a relegation battle. As with Chelsea, he struggled in his second season. With the side in a relegation battle again, he was sacked.

The interim job at Chelsea came as a surprise to many. Lampard is intertwined with the club because of his playing days. But maybe it’s time to call it quits on his long time relationship with the club, if he doesn’t want Andy Goldstein to be right.
