Al Ittihad are in ‘Preliminary Negotiations’ with Manchester United to sign Raphael Varane this summer, after the Frenchman gave positive indications that he would like to play in the Saudi Pro League.
Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has given indications that he would be open to a move to Saudi Arabia this summer, amid interest from Al Ittihad.
Varane has started both of Manchester United’s Premier League fixtures so far this season and he also scored their only goal of the season so far in a nervy 1-0 win over Wolves last week.
The rumours surrounding a move for Varane have been circulating all summer and it would be a huge loss if the Red Devils were to see their defender leave for the Saudi Pro League this season.
Varane’s deal at Manchester United isn’t set to expire until 2025, so Erik Ten Hag could set a high price tag on one of his most important defender’s in order to try keep the 30-year-old this season.
A big money move for Varane might not be a problem for Al Ittihad, who have already secured the talents of N’Golo Kante, Fabinho and Jota in a busy transfer window.

Al Ittihad also signed Karim Benzema this summer, who could play a huge role in Varane’s potential transfer as the pair won four Champions League title’s together during their time at Real Madrid.
The former teammates could be reunited this summer in a blockbuster move for Varane, which would end the players brief time in Manchester after just 65 appearances for the Red Devils.
