Ajax captain Dusan Tadic is set to terminate his contract at the Dutch club after five years at the club, following a furious row with Ajax bosses over how the club is run.

The 34-year-old has reportedly grown frustrated with his side’s transfer policy and the quality of players in his team, with Tadic making some bold statements on his way out of Ajax.

Tadic’s exit comes just after the club captain decided to skip the beginning of pre season, which began on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Ajax have just endured one of their worst season’s in the past decade, as the Dutch side finished in third place of the Eredivisie which is well below the high standards that they are used to.

Feyenoord won the league last season which stopped Ajax from securing a fourth title in a row, but more importantly the Dutch giants missed out on Champions League qualification for the first time in 13 years.

As a result of missing out on Europe’s top competition next season, Ajax have reportedly made the decision to spend significantly less this summer in a move that has seriously frustrated their captain.

The Serbian has decided that enough is enough from his side and despite captaining Ajax and enjoying four extremely successful years at the club, he has decided to terminate his contract this summer.

Tadic will be sorely missed by Ajax, with the veteran notching up 105 goals and 112 assists in 241 games for the club, but after showing anger at playing with ‘lesser players’ it looks like he will leave this summer.

Where Tadic will go is yet to be announced, but with Saudi Arabia poaching some of Europe’s top stars this year it would be no surprise to see him make the popular move to one a Saudi based club.
