AC Milan are reportedly interested in making a surprise move for Manchester City star, Kyle Walker, with a renewed contract looking unlikely.

The England international has established himself as one of the best right backs in Premier League history since signing for Manchester City in 2017.

Making 242 appearances for the blue side of Manchester, Walker has won four PL titles, four League Cups, and the FA Cup, in what has been a memorable spell.

However, this year has been the 32-year-old’s most difficult year in a City shirt, starting only 15 league matches and missing six through injury.

Pep Guardiola’s recent team selection has seen the defender be edged out of the side, with the City manager preferring four centre backs instead of ‘traditional’ full backs.

Joao Cancelo’s loan move to Bayern Munich may be a sign of things to come, as the Portuguese international was one of City’s star players last season and was quickly removed after a poor run of form.

AC Milan are having a disappointing season domestically,  considering their miraculous campaign last year, where they won the Serie A title for the first time since 2011.

The Rossoneri sit fifth in Serie A and are in a huge Champions League qualification battle with Roma, Juventus, and Inter Milan.

Domestically the club have failed to live up to expectation, however, Stefano Poli’s side form in Europe has been nothing short of sublime.

Supporters will be eagerly awaiting the club’s Champions League semi-final clash with fierce rivals, Inter Milan. The Serie A giants are set to play the opening leg on May 10th.

The last ‘Derby della Madonnina’ in the UCL was back in 2005, with AC Milan coming out victorious in the quarter final.

If Milan can progress to the final then they may be facing Walker’s current side, who face Real Madrid in the opposing semi-final. Would a historic Champions League victory be enough to bring the City defender to Italy?
