The 2024 PDC World Darts Championship Final viewing figures hit a record 3.75m viewers – which is MORE than any non-football event on Sky Sports – nuts!
Luke Littler vs Luke Humphries World Darts Final Viewing Figures Hit 3.75m
Wednesday night’s monster PDC World Darts Championship Final, which was sponsored by leading bookmaker Paddy Power, was tipped pre-event by many – including promotor – Eddie Hearn – as being one of the most viewed on Sky Sports – and they were right.
Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler was the main driving force behind the increased attention in this year’s tournament, as the Runcorn youngster had defied his 300/1 starting odds to reach the final against the new world number one Luke Humphries.
In an epic battle between the ‘Lukes’, it was Humphries that just ‘had the force’ after battling back from being 4-2 down to win the next five sets, and end 16 year-old Luke Littler’s fantastic run in the event.
With the final score 7-4 and seeing Luke Humphries take his first Sid Waddell Trophy.
World Darts Final Attracts More Sky Viewers Than Any Non-Football Event
However, once the dust had settled on an unforgettable evening of darts the attention turned to just how many arrows fans tuned into watch the action on Sky Sports.
On Thursday morning the subscription channel reported that a staggering 3.75m darts fans had been glued to their TV’s in an attempt to witness some sporting history, and see if 16 year-old Littler could do the unthinkable and become the youngest ever World Darts Champion.
As we know, Luke Littler just fell short of breaking ‘that’ record, which you feel would have stood the darting test of time.
But with 3.75m darts final viewers the two Lukes still managed to smash another record that has now catapulted this event to being the most-watched non-football event EVER on Sky Sports.
The previous darts viewing figure record was the 2.3m that watched Littler beat the 2018 world champ Rob Cross in the semi-final.
While, prior to that, the record was held in the 2015 final with 1.65m seeing Gary Anderson topple Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor.
With the sport of darts on the up and its popularity growing each year, you feel there will be plenty more viewing figures to be broken in the future.

Actual 2024 World Darts Viewing Figures Liking To Be Even Higher
With Sky Sports reporting 3.75m viewers watching the World Darts Final on Wednesday 3rd January 2024, this figure is more than likely much higher.
Why? Well, many darts fans would have also been watching in the pubs and social clubs around the country – all glued to one TV.
Plus, there are also many darts streaming sites these days that would have also showcased the final. Meaning, in truth, far more than 3.75m people would have actually witnessed the Alexandra Palace final.
