2023 York Ebor Festival Race Times, ITV Schedule and Running Order
We end August with a crackerjack of a meeting at York as their Ebor Festival runs from Wednesday 23rd to Saturday 26th.
There are seven races each day, with the opening five being shown LIVE on ITV.
Across the festival we’ve top Group One races that include the Nunthorpe Stakes, Yorkshire Oaks and Juddmonte International, while overall there are nine Group contests.
However, it’s the Ebor Handicap – that the meeting is named after and the most valuable handicap in Europe – which grabs a lot of headlines too.
The contest is always run on the final day (Saturday) and is a prize that the Irish have a fair record in (6 of the last 21), plus it’s also been won twice since 2018 by trainer John Gosden.

2023 Ebor Handicap Betting
With a maximum of 22 runners, the Ebor Handicap, which is run over a trip of 1m6f, is always a competitive betting heat for the best UK horse racing betting sites. Last year we saw Frankie Dettori win the race for the second time in his career and he’ll be riding in the event for the final time – can he go out with another winner?

The Juddmonte International is one of the big Group One races at the meeting and this year we could be set for a ‘must-see’ clash between the classy Paddington, who has already won the Irish 2000 Guineas, St James’s Palace Stakes, Eclipse and Sussex Stakes this term, and one of the top-rated horses in training – easy Prince Of Wales’s Stakes winner Mostahadaf.
Add in the potential return of the 2022 Epsom Derby winner Desert Crown and all is in place for a cracking renewal of this day one (Wednesday) feature.
2023 Nunthorpe Stakes Betting
Run on the Friday of the meeting, this is a chance to see some of the best sprinters in the world blast out over the York 5f trip. Last year we saw the John Quinn-trained Highfield Princess win by an impressive 2 1/2 lengths and she’ll be back to defend her crown.
She looks most to fear from King’s Stand Stakes hero Bradsell, who beat her at Royal Ascot back in June.
