The 2023 Nunthorpe Stakes betting was shaken up this week with Highfield Princess, last year’s winner, cut into odds of 7/4 after a facile win in the King George Qatar Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

After a run of four races without a win the classy John Quinn speedy mare Highfield Princess bounced back to winning ways in sparkling fashion, when winning the Group Two King George Qatar Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on Friday.
The 6 year-old was running in her 35th race at the West Sussex track and used every bit of that experience to see off her 10 rivals to win easily by 3 lengths, with White Lavender grabbing the silver.
That win, her 13th in total, pushed her total career winnings to just shy of ÂŁ1.5m (ÂŁ1,498,749).
As a result, the best UK horse racing betting sites have shaved her 2023 Nunthorpe Stakes odds to 7/4 as she bids to win the big York sprint for a second year in-a-row.
12 months ago, Highfield Princess won the Nunthorpe Stakes by an easy 2 1/2 lengths (watch below).
If she is to justify those York odds she’ll need to reverse the form with Bradsell, who finished ahead of her in the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot in June – there was a length between the pair.
The Archie Watson-trained Bradsell is next best in the Nunthorpe Stakes betting market @ 3/1.

Highfield Princess Bidding To Become the First Back-to-Back Nunthorpe Winner Since Battaash
Being the current queen of the Nunthorpe Stakes, then Highfield Princess will be looking to defend her crown on Friday 25th August.
The good news for her supporters is the Nunthorpe Stakes in recent years has been a decent race for past winners. Since 2008 there have been three back-to-back winners – Borderlescott (2008 & 2009), Mecca’s Angel (2015 & 2016) and Battaash (2019 & 2020).
