The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations gets underway on January 13th as hosts Ivory Coast take on Guinea-Bissau in the tournament opener, but which country has the most valuable squad?

The likes of holders Senegal, 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finalists Morocco, Mo Salah’s Egypt and a Nigeria side boasting Victor Osimhen will all be gunning for glory.

Of the 24 nations competing at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeria come out on top in terms of squad valuation. Star striker Victor Osimhen is worth almost a third of the Super Eagles entire team.

Coming up next is 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finalists Morocco, who have the likes of PSG’s Achraf Hakimi and West Ham’s Nayef Aguerd in their ranks. 

Hosts Ivory Coast, holders Senegal and Ghana complete the top five. Mo Salah’s Egypt come in at number nine with Cameroon two spots ahead of the Pharaoh’s.

At the other end of the scale, Tanzania have the lowest 2023 AFCON squad value with Namibia, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritiana and South Africa completing the bottom five.
